DATA CENTER REGULATION A PRIORITY IN MONTOUR COUNTY
Montour County is taking steps to regulate data centers. Commissioners unanimously approved a new ordinance Tuesday, just ahead of a six-month moratorium set to expire. But the measure is already heading back to the planning commission for further review. Officials say state law requires data centers be allowed somewhere, so the focus is on how they’re regulated. Some residents say the rules don’t go far enough, while commissioners note concerns about building height and setbacks could lead to additional changes down the line.

Officials say Katz played a key role in city improvements, police initiatives and downtown events like First Friday. The tribute will celebrate her lasting impact and dedication to the Williamsport community.

LIHEAP DEADLINE EXTENDED
Pennsylvanians who need help paying heating bills now have until May 8 to apply for assistance through LIHEAP. State officials say the deadline was extended because funding remains available for both cash and crisis grants. The program helps renters and homeowners cover home heating costs, including emergency situations like shutoffs or low fuel. Anyone having trouble keeping up with bills is encouraged to apply before the new deadline.
