A Muncy Township resident has filed a lawsuit accusing local officials of violating Pennsylvania’s Sunshine Act. According to the Sun Gazette, the complaint claims supervisors and the planning commission failed to allow public comment and altered meeting agendas before votes were taken. It also alleges improper procedures and lack of legal oversight at multiple meetings. The lawsuit asks the court to void actions taken and impose penalties for the alleged violations.

WYSOX MAN SENTENCED FOR AREMED STANDOFF
A Wysox man has been convicted after leading police on a dangerous multi-state chase that ended in an armed standoff. Prosecutors say 43-year-old Chase Paul Argot fled officers in November after reportedly brandishing a handgun in New York. The chase stretched into Pennsylvania, where Argot drove erratically, nearly struck a police vehicle and crossed back into New York before stopping near a fire station. He exited the SUV with a loaded revolver and ignored commands before being subdued with a taser. A second gun was found inside the vehicle. Argot was found guilty on multiple charges and is awaiting sentencing in June.
HOME RULE VOTE COMING UP IN MAY
Williamsport voters will decide May 19 whether to move forward with studying Home Rule. Officials say a yes vote would create a seven-member commission to explore a new form of local government, not implement it. The commission would spend months gathering public input and could draft a proposed charter for voters to consider in a future election. Leaders say the process could modernize government operations, but if voters ultimately reject it, no changes would be made.
