SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN LEWISBURG
A Sunbury woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near the Susquehanna Valley Mall. State police say 58-year-old Sandy Mallatratt was driving north on North Susquehanna Trail around 4:30 when her SUV struck the rear of a Chevrolet Suburban. The impact pushed the Suburban into another vehicle ahead. Mallatratt was taken to Geisinger Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Police say she was not wearing a seat belt and has been cited for following too closely, careless driving, and a seat belt violation. Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded to the scene.
ORGANIZED THEFT OF PENNSYLVANIA LOWE’S STORES
Three men have been arrested in connection with an organized retail theft scheme targeting Lowe’s stores across Pennsylvania. Attorney General Dave Sunday says the suspects used stolen customer account numbers to place online orders for construction materials like doors, flooring and cabinets. Investigators say the purchases were picked up at stores in five counties, including Columbia, Franklin and York, between August and September. Authorities say the scheme caused nearly 50 thousand dollars in losses. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Organized Crime Section.
SECURITY SCREENINGS COMING TO ALL GEISINGER LOCATIONS
Geisinger will begin rolling out security screenings at entrances to all of its hospitals over the next year. The first phase starts March 30 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Officials say visitors, patients and staff entering public doors will pass through metal detectors similar to those used at airports or courthouses. Weapons such as firearms and knives are prohibited. Geisinger says the move is part of ongoing efforts to improve safety for patients, visitors and employees.

The 653-square-foot structure includes an aluminum frame, adjustable glass panels, irrigation hookups, and a built-in climate control system. Bidding is open online, with the current high bid just over 300 dollars. Officials say the greenhouse could be useful for hobbyists, small farms, or nurseries. Proceeds from the sale will support school supplies, educational programs, and other district needs.
WELLSBORO MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE
A Wellsboro man is facing multiple charges, including attempted homicide, after police say he went on a violent rampage in Lock Haven while under the influence of meth. Authorities say 39-year-old Adam Quigley allegedly struck a pedestrian with his truck, then fled, later ramming a patrol vehicle during a traffic stop. Police say he led officers on a high-speed chase into Woodward Township, where he drove head-on into another cruiser, disabling it. The pursuit ended when his truck broke down. Investigators say Quigley even tried to escape custody after his arrest. He’s now in the Clinton County Jail without bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 23.
