A two-day manhunt in Lycoming County ended Sunday afternoon when Adam Nathan Taylor of South Williamsport turned himself in to authorities in Muncy. RN ENTERS NO CONTEST OVER DAUGHTER INGESTING MARIJUANA
A Lewisburg registered nurse has entered a no-contest plea in a child endangerment case in Union County Court. Prosecutors say 38-year-old Danita Robinson pleaded no contest to a felony charge of failing to report child abuse after her one-year-old daughter ingested marijuana multiple times without receiving medical care. A judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation, canceling a scheduled trial, while related charges remain pending.
MOUNT CARMEL SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS DRESS CODE
Students and parents urged the Mount Carmel Area Board of Education to consider easing the district’s dress code, saying it is costly, outdated, and distracts from learning. According to the News Item, students told board members the policy limits self-expression and forces families in a low-income area to spend extra money on specific clothing, while minor violations can result in time spent in in-school suspension instead of class. District leaders responded that donated clothing is available to students in need and said the dress code will be added to the agenda for further discussion at an upcoming board work session.
