FELONY CHARGES FOR MILTON MAN AFTER SHOOTING IN MILTON
A Milton man is being held on 500-thousand dollars cash bail after being charged with multiple felonies in connection with an alleged shooting incident in the borough. Craig Dunn of Mahoning Street faces four counts of felony aggravated assault and a felony firearms charge following an October eleventh report of shots fired at a home. Police say a victim heard a gun being cocked and a shot fired inside the residence. Dunn was arraigned yesterday and is now in the Northumberland County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
PA MAN JAILED FOR HIGH-SPEED CHASE WITH TODDLER IN CAR
A York County man is facing multiple felony charges after state police say he led troopers on a high-speed chase topping 124 miles an hour on Routes 11-15 in Snyder and Union counties. Twenty-five-year-old Emanuel Casanova-Rosario of Stewartstown fled a traffic stop near Selinsgrove on November 28th and drove recklessly for about seven miles before stopping in Union Township. Police say a 16-month-old child was in the car and Casanova-Rosario’s license was suspended. Bail is set at 75-thousand dollars.
HEPBURN TOWNSHIP PROPERTY TAX MILLAGE COULD GO UP
Hepburn Township is set to raise its local property tax millage for 2026 to help fund required police, fire, and EMS services. Township supervisors say the increase, which could take the millage to over 5, takes effect January first and is needed to keep up with rising public-safety and infrastructure costs. Officials say the decision followed a full budget review and stress a commitment to transparency. FREE CONCERT WITH THE REPASZ BAND IN WILLIAMSPORT
Bells take center stage at the Repasz Band’s annual holiday concert tonight at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. The free concert begins at 7:30 and including bell-themed favorites like “Carol of the Bells,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Silver Bells,” with special appearances by the Covenant Central Presbyterian Church handbell choir. THREE SUNBURY MEN JAILED AFTER STABBING IN SUNBURY
Three men are in custody and two face felony charges following a stabbing in Sunbury early Saturday morning. Police say forty-year-old Marvin Lamar and forty-two-year-old Paul Henderson are charged with aggravated assault and robbery after a man was stabbed multiple times during a fight on North Second Street around three a.m. The victim reported being attacked by several men and robbed of cash and personal items. He was treated at Geisinger Medical Center and released, and the investigation continues.
RETIRED STATE VEHICLE AUCTION TODAY NEAR MANHEIM, PA
Nearly four hundred used vehicles will be up for public sale at the December Commonwealth Vehicle Auction. The sale starts today at 10am at Manheim Keystone at 488 Firehouse Road in Grantville, PA. The lineup includes retired state police vehicles, SUVs, pickups, sedans, and seized vehicles from law enforcement. Purchases must be made with certified funds.
ONLINE ICE FISHING PROGRAM THIS JANUARY
Pennsylvania anglers can sharpen their winter fishing skills during a virtual ice fishing program hosted by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission on Thursday, January eighth from seven to nine p.m. The interactive session will cover ice safety, where to find fish in winter, and both basic and advanced ice fishing gear. Participants will also receive invitations to in-person programs in northern Pennsylvania and follow-up online resources. Registration is available through the Fish and Boat Commission website.
CODE BLUE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO OPERATE THIS WINTER
Code Blue at First Church Williamsport is seeking overnight volunteers to serve as a faith-based emergency shelter for community members in need of a safe, warm place to stay from January fifth through March twenty-first, 2026. An informational meeting will be held tomorrow evening at six p.m. at First Church, 604 Market Street in Williamsport. Organizers say overnight volunteers are critical for operations.
