MILLVILLE TEEN CHARGED WITH HOMICIDE AGAINST ANOTHER TEEN
A 16-year-old teenager has been charged with criminal homicide in Columbia County following the death of another teen last week. Adam Joshua Bartosic, who turns 17 today, faces murder charges in the shooting death of 17-year-old Carter Conklin. Conklin was found dead at his Engle Road home Thursday morning with a gunshot wound to the head. Both teens attended Millville Area High School. Police say Bartosic was arraigned Monday before District Judge Doug Brewer and is being held in Columbia County Prison without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for September 30th at 10:30 a.m.
PHILLY DEALER SENTENCED FOR SELLING DRUGS IN WILLIAMSPORT
Williamsport authorities report a man has been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison for his role in a statewide methamphetamine ring. According to North Central PA dot com, 28 year old Sabeeh Goldwire, of Upper Darby, sold meth seven times in Williamsport last year, often within 1,000 feet of public housing. Evidence showed he transported the drug from Philadelphia to the city. Goldwire pleaded guilty in June and was sentenced September 17th by Chief U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann.
LAND DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR WASD ATHLETICS
Williamsport City Council has approved the revised land development plan for the high school athletic complex at 2990 West Fourth Street. According to the Sun Gazette, the project includes a new 11,500-square-foot fieldhouse with bathrooms and concessions, a 65,000-square-foot tennis facility, and upgraded accessible parking and walkways. Tennis courts will be replaced, basketball courts removed, and pickleball courts added. The press box, locker rooms, and concession stands will be rebuilt, and a paved parking lot will replace existing storage sheds. LAURELTON COPPER WIRE THIEVES SENTENCED
Two men have been sentenced to state prison for stealing copper piping and wiring from the former Laurelton Center. According to the Daily Item, 60 year old Michael Shawn Klingensmith, received four to 48 months, while 38-year-old Gerad Daniel Ogershok was sentenced to six to 47 months. The theft caused more than $12,000 in damage, with $7,150 in copper and wiring taken. Ogershok was also found with heroin during booking. A third suspect, Christopher Duane Hall, is scheduled for a pre-trial conference in October.
