PSP INVESTIGATING THREATS AT CENTRAL MOUNTAIN HS
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a series of threats at Central Mountain High School. Officials say a threat on March 20 was cleared, followed by bomb threats on March 23 and 24 that led to students being sent home while the building was searched. Each time, no danger was found. Troopers say suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Lamar.
SUSPECT WHO STABBED VICTIM CAUGHT AFTER FLEEING
A Williamsport man is facing charges after police say he stabbed a victim and tried to flee. Authorities say on March 17th, 36-year-old Kenneth Scott Outlaw allegedly slashed the victim’s face before running from the scene along Little League Boulevard. Police later located him on Memorial Avenue, where he had ditched his jacket in an attempt to avoid capture. Investigators say he was identified through surveillance video and his tattoos. Outlaw is now charged with aggravated assault and remains jailed on $125,000 bail.
LEGISLATION FOR RAISING MINIMUM WAGE INTRODUCED
The Pennsylvania House has once again passed a proposal to raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour. The bill, which passed 104 to 95 with some bipartisan support, would gradually increase wages starting in 2027 and reach $15 by 2029. Supporters say it’s long overdue and will help workers keep up with rising costs. Opponents argue it could lead to job losses and higher prices. The measure now heads to the Republican-controlled Senate, where its future remains uncertain.
CROSSCUTTERS AUDITIONING FOR NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGERS
The Williamsport Crosscutters are now accepting applications for National Anthem performers for the 2026 season. Interested singers, musicians, and groups can apply online at crosscutters.com by submitting a performance video. Auditions are open to all, and performances must follow a traditional, 90-second or less format. Applications are due by April 30. The Crosscutters season begins June 2, marking the 100th anniversary of Historic Bowman Field.
WOMAN CHARGED FOR CORRUPTING MORALS OF A MINOR
A Clinton County woman is facing new charges for allegedly giving drugs to a teenager and encouraging her to run away from home. Police say 42-year-old Gwen Ardner sent messages about hiding marijuana and arranged drug deliveries to the 16-year-old. Prosecutors say Ardner has a prior conviction for a similar case involving a missing child. She now faces multiple charges, including corruption of minors, and is being held on $25,000 bail.
SUSPECT WHO ASSAULTED GIRLFRIEND, STOLE DOG, AT LARGE
A Lycoming County man is wanted after police say he assaulted his ex-girlfriend and stole her dog on February 14th. Authorities say 46-year-old Brian Lucas forced his way into the woman’s home, pushed her to the ground, injuring her knee, and took her grey and white pit bull. Officers found signs of a struggle inside the home. Lucas is facing multiple charges, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Lycoming Regional Police Department at 570-323-4987
CONSULTANT FIRM HIRED BY THE CITY
The City of Williamsport has approved a new agreement for financial consulting services, bringing back a familiar expert to help manage city finances. According toth e SUN Gazette, City Council authorized a contract with Dailey Operation Consulting, with services provided as needed at about $145 per hour. The firm’s lead consultant previously assisted the city during the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials say the partnership will provide support with budgeting, planning and overall financial management moving forward.

The Milton Rotary Club is offering a last-minute chance for 10 sponsors to join its Hometown Heroes Banner Program.
