BAIL DENIED FOR MAN ACCUSED AS A MURDER ACCOMPLICE

According to North Central PA dot com, Davon Tamel Grissom, appeared for arraignment Wednesday by video on charges including second-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy in the death of Jermaine Mullen. Prosecutors say Grissom helped Benjamin Villanueva tie Mullen up and place him in the trunk of his own car before the killing. Authorities say Grissom’s alleged role came to light during Villanueva’s trial when newly recovered text messages connected the two men the night of the shooting. Villanueva was convicted of criminal homicide earlier this year.

However, the jury did convict Thompson of several other charges, including fleeing, reckless endangerment, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, and illegal possession of a weapon. Thompson has already spent about four years in jail and will be sentenced on the remaining convictions at a later date.

Twigg and his wife are suing the companies that made and sold the net, claiming it failed less than 15 months after it was manufactured. The companies deny the net was defective.
DECISION ON DISMANTLING POLICE DEPARTMENT TABLED
Zerbe Township supervisors have tabled a decision on whether to permanently shut down the township’s police department. Officials say they want more information first about possible expansion plans at two nearby outdoor recreation areas that could bring more ATV traffic through the community. Township leaders say relying on state police could allow for 24-hour coverage at no cost to the township. Supervisors say the issue will be revisited once they learn more about future development plans and potential impacts on public safety.
