Authorities say Erb later admitted he squeezed the infant hard enough to cause the injuries on three separate occasions.
SECOND SUSPECT CHARGED IN 2023 KIDNAPPING, MURDER
A second suspect has been charged in connection with the 2023 killing of a Williamsport man who police say was kidnapped and robbed before being shot. Investigators say 38-year-old Davon Tamel Grissom worked with Benjamin Villanueva to lure Jermaine Mullen to a dark area of the city after seeing him show cash at the Valley Inn. Mullen was found shot multiple times near his still-running car on Memorial Avenue. Villanueva has already been convicted of murder. Grissom now faces charges including second-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy and is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
SOLAR ENERGY PUSH IN PA
Two nonprofits are partnering to expand solar energy across Pennsylvania. The Capital Good Fund and the Pennsylvania Solar Center say the effort could develop nearly 40 million dollars in solar projects over the next four years. The plan supports about 70 projects through the GET Solar program. Small businesses, nonprofits and municipalities will be able to install solar with no money down through the Pennsylvania BRIGHT initiative. Officials say participants could save about 25 percent on electricity costs each year while expanding access to clean energy statewide.

The Troop 38G member earned the rank during a Court of Honor held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The Muncy High School freshman also created educational signs for visitors and received recognition from several local and state officials.
MAN CHARGED IN ASSAULT INCIDENT FROM 2025
A Williamsport man is facing multiple charges following an alleged assault that happened last fall. Police say 43-year-old Seneca Martin Mitchell strangled a woman during an argument at her apartment in September. According to court documents, Mitchell jumped over a table, grabbed the victim by the neck and later slammed her onto a bed, preventing her from breathing. Investigators say he also took and threw her phone as she tried to call 911. Mitchell is charged with strangulation, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct and is being held in Lycoming County Prison on $35,000 bail.
JAILED MAN TO BE RESENTENCED A Shamokin man convicted in a child pornography case has been resentenced to prison after violating probation. A Northumberland County judge ordered 60-year-old John Jurevicz Jr. to serve 12 to 48 months in state prison. Court records show he had originally received five years of probation in 2024 along with six months of house arrest and registration under Megan’s Law. Prosecutors say the violations included possessing a social media account and an offensive weapon. Although he has credit for time already served, Jurevicz will now be transferred to a state correctional facility.
MIDDLEBURG COMMUNITY POOL CLOSING
A community swimming pool that served Middleburg families for decades is closing permanently. The Middleburg Area Recreation Association announced this week the pool will shut down after more than 50 years of operation. Board members say rising costs for staff, chemicals, repairs and maintenance created a growing financial deficit, and revenue from the short summer season can no longer cover expenses. Officials called the decision difficult and thanked the community for years of support. The announcement has already sparked discussions about possible fundraising efforts to help support future recreation options.
