STATE PRISON SENTENCE FOR SEX OFFENDER FROM BEAVER SPRINGS
A Snyder County man has been sentenced to five to ten years in state prison for aggravated indecent assault of a child. According to North Central PA dot com, 31-year-old Ryan Martin from Beaver Springs entered a guilty plea and was sentenced by the county president judge. Under Pennsylvania law, the conviction carries a mandatory prison term because of the victim’s age. The defendant was also classified as a sexually violent predator and will remain on the Megan’s Law registry for life. Prosecutors say the sentence ensures accountability while protecting the community.
TRAGIC SHOOTING KILLED THREE OFFICERS IN YORK COUNTY
Three police officers were killed and two others critically injured during a shooting in North Codorus Township, York County, on Wednesday afternoon. According to the York Dispatch, the incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. while officers were serving a warrant related to a domestic investigation that began the previous day. The suspect was fatally shot by police at the scene. Two of the wounded officers were transported to WellSpan York Hospital and are in critical but stable condition under heightened security. TIOGA COUNTY MAN AT LARGE AFTER CARJACKING WOMAN
State police are searching for a Tioga County man accused of a violent carjacking in Charleston Township. According to North Central PA dot com, investigators say 31-year-old David Perla assaulted a woman driving him home on September 1st before taking her vehicle and fleeing the scene. The car was later recovered, but Perla remains at large. He is wanted on multiple charges, including robbery of a motor vehicle, assault, and theft. Police say Perla has a long criminal history in Tioga County, and an active warrant has been issued for his arrest.
MIFFLINBURG MANUFACTURING PLANT TO CLOSE THIS YEAR
Cabinetworks Group will permanently close its Mifflinburg manufacturing facility by December, putting roughly 200 employees out of work.
