DAUPHIN COUNTY FUGITIVE ARRESTED IN WILLIAMSPORT
City police have identified the man who leapt from a Cherry Street rooftop in a failed attempt to flee capture last Thursday. According to the Sun Gazette, 25 year old Shakur Smith-El of Memorial Avenue was wanted on four separate warrants out of Harrisburg, including felony drug charges, forgery, and flight to avoid apprehension. Police say they first spotted him in May, but he escaped after being tased. Smith-El was finally caught last week, evaluated at UPMC Williamsport, and arraigned on multiple charges. He’s now in Lycoming County Prison on $500,000 bail.

FLOOD RISK DISCLOSURE BILL HEADS TO PA HOUSE FOR DEBATE
A new bill could soon make flood risks more transparent for Pennsylvania homebuyers. House Bill 1704, the Flood Risk Disclosure Bill, would require sellers to disclose if a property has flooded, lies in a FEMA flood zone, or needs flood insurance. Supporters say it would prevent surprise costs that can double monthly payments. The bill stems from rising insurance premiums and aims to boost preparedness for severe storms. It passed the House Insurance Committee and now heads to the full House for debate.
AUTUMN ATTRACTION TO TEMPORARILY OPEN THIS FALL
One of Pennsylvania’s most iconic fall spots is reopening in McKean County —temporarily. The Skywalk and Kinzua Creek Trail at Kinzua Bridge State Park, located at 296 Viaduct Road, will be open from August 8 through the end of October for peak autumn views. The Skywalk had been closed for viaduct repairs, and will shut down again after fall, but representatives say the visitor center and PA Wilds Conservation Shop remain open year-round. Officials remind visitors to arrive early, especially on weekends, as parking fills quickly during the busy leaf-peeping season.
SUSPECTS IMPERSONATING FEDERAL ICE AGENTS
Police are warning of a scam involving people impersonating federal agents. The Buffalo Valley Regional Police say individuals posing as ICE officers tried to access a downtown Lewisburg business and demanded personal employee information—without showing a warrant or valid ID. Homeland Security confirmed no authorized action was scheduled in the area. Police officials ask that anyone who has been approached by these individuals to contact them at 570-524-4302.

Both are free on reduced bail and are set to argue that their actions were nonviolent and constitutionally protected. The fur farm, Richard H. Stahl and Sons, was previously targeted in September.
