JERSEY SHORE MAN NAMED IN FATAL CRASH
The victim of the fatal one car crash that happened Friday morning at High and Thomas streets has been identified. According to the Sun Gazette, the Lycoming County Coroner reported the victim was 69 year old William Walker of Jersey Shore. It was determined that Walker suffered a medical episode while driving before he was rushed to nearby Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite efforts to revive him. Lycoming County regional police closed the 300 block of High Street Friday during the midday for several hours while they investigated the crash.
LYCOMING COUNTY MAN FACES ASSAULT CHARGES
A Jersey Shore man was in court last week for an incident in July in which he allegedly pointed a gun at a man in a car on Maynard Street and fled the scene. According to the Sun Gazette, 23 year old Thomas Baldwin Gibson was detained last summer after witnesses said he jumped on the victim’s car pointing the gun and then driving away, only to be detained later by city police. After obtaining a warrant for Gibson’s car, they found a loaded firearm. He most recently waived his preliminary hearing and is free on 10 thousand dollars bail.
AI SECURITY TO BE INSTALLED AT MONTOURSVILLE SCHOOLS
Artificial intelligence is set to be installed and used at the Montoursville Area School District by the end of the month. According to an email from Superintendent Daniel Taormina, a grant has provided the funds for a PA based security company, Zero-Eyes, to install the system on the school’s pre-existing security cameras. The software will be installed on February 27th and will supplement the efforts of the school’s armed personnel to protect students and staff. Williamsport area schools also have installed Zero-Eyes into the system there.
BASEBALL STAR HITS HALF COURT BASKETBALL SHOT
Major league Baseball star Alex Rodriguez sunk a half-court shot Sunday at Bucknell University during the Bucknell vs. Army game, and won 10 thousand dollars for a student named Owen. Rodriguez was in attendance with Bucknell graduate Marc Lore, with whom he is in a business deal to purchase a controlling interest of the Minnesota Timberwolves. After Rodriguez hit the shot off the glass he seemed to show his own shock at the shot as the student section erupted in pandemonium and they surrounded him midcourt.
MAN ON PROBATION ARRESTED BY GAME WARDEN
A man who is not allowed to possess firearms was found in the woods by a PA game warden with guns and marijuana in December and was recently in court to face the charges. According to North Central PA dot com, 44-year-old David Mark Shay II was in the area of Alvira Road when he was stopped by a warden but was unable to provide an ID and denied having firearms. The officer continued questioning Shay who then produced two loaded firearms from the back seat of his vehicle, and upon more investigating the warden found the man had a suspended drivers license. Shay walked away from the area but later the officer discovered he was on probation and had committed other felonies and arrested him. He was taken to Lycoming County prison with a preliminary hearing March 14th.
MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT
A South Williamsport man is facing charges after taking money for a flooring job in Dushore and never doing the work. According to the victim, she used an online app to pay 37 year old Nicholas Maxson 2500 dollars before February 7th after which she called police to report the work had not been completed. Charges for theft of services were filed in Sullivan County District Court.

There will be a repair project on I-80 EB this Week in Hemlock Township, Columbia County. CLINTON COUNTY FAIR ANNOUNCES LINE-UP
The Clinton County Fair association has announced the line up and dates for the 52nd fair this summer in Mackeyville. According to the Association, the annual event is scheduled for July 26th through Aug. 2nd at the Fairgrounds and will include a motorcycle thrill show, dirt drag racing, bull riding, and Figure 8 and demolition derby events. The music headliner is Nashville-based 7 Bridges, The Ultimate Eagles Experience on the evening of August 2nd .
