Peter Frampton then... Peter Frampton now....
Today's piece of Lost Jewelry from the Vaults at Oldiez 93 for Wednesday, September 8, 2010, comes from Peter Frampton!
On June 11, 1977, "I'm In You" entered Billboard's Top 40 and screamed up the charts, coming to a rest at #2, spending three weeks in second place and thirteen weeks in the charts, becoming Frampton's biggest hit.
Peter Frampton was born in Beckenham, Kent, England and was a member of Humble Pie and had his own band, Frampton's Camel, before heading out on his own. He scored six Top 40 hits between March, 1976 and July, 1979 and played "Billy Shears" in the motion picture "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", based on the music of The Beatles and generally considered the worst-ever rock and roll film.
Frampton's "Frampton Comes Alive" is considered one of the best live rock albums, superpassed only by the Rolling Stones' "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out".
